When it comes to finding the right sound, local St. Louis musical group The Grooveliner gets it. This relatively new band, formed in February of 2015, aims not to peg their style with the label of a particular genre, but to follow one consistent goal: to groove. The Grooveliner aims to have a diverse sound, which is completely doable because of the differing musical backgrounds of each of the musicians. The sestet is composed of Matt Vianello on electric guitar, Toby Mechem on drums, Dave Muser on the horns, Ben Moore on the saxophone, John Covelli on the keys, and John Short on bass. Currently, the members consider their grooves fall within the spectrum of Funk/Latin/Rock/Soul- a wide range of genre’s to ensure that there is something for every audience member in attendance! To further guarantee variety in their sound, many differing musical inspirations drive the sound of The Grooveliner, including Snarky Puppy, James Brown, Trombone Shorty, and many more. This group has the skill of experimenting with sound, and is not afraid to use it!

Needless to say, you will not be able to keep your toe from tapping along as you allow the grooves of this musical group to entrance you. Make sure to get up and dance along to the grooving vibes of The Grooveliner as they take the stage at the 2016 Historic Shaw Art Fair!
