Some odds and ends: 1) The new shawartfair.org website is live!  Special thanks to David Ray for his hard work.  Look for a revamped shawstlouis.org site, soon! 2) We have a slew of new and returning committees that could use your support, wherever you feel led to serve: website/communications, membership, outreach, art fair, dog park, marketing/public relations, beautification, safety/security. 3) We continue to enjoy a strong working relationship with our friends at the… Read More

Food Truck Friday and Art Fair Recruitment

By jenny | No Comments

It’s what’s become a monthly Tower Grove Park tradition, Sauce Magazine hosts Food Truck Friday.  We’ve written about it a few times, here.  The Beacon, did a fantastic job of it, here.  The food fun starts at 4PM, lasts ’til 8 (or whenever the trucks run out), and is a great excuse to get neighbors together.  It’s also a nice way to bring non-Shaw-ites to our neighborhood, and show them one of so many… Read More

Cbabi Bayoc is known in many circles these days.  Nationally-renown St. Louis-based artist, and co-proprietor of Sweet Art (also nationally renown, thanks to the New York Times), just to name a couple.  But, the two roles he treasures most: husband and father. In light of this weekend’s workshop, I’ve been asked how the proposed Shaw safety model will work.  This story from Channel 4 does a great job of showing how Lafayette Square started the model, and how Dutchtown and Tower Grove South are implementing it. I hope to see all of you this Saturday 10AM at The Word at Shaw (4265 Shaw Ave.). Read More
