Missouri Botanical Garden

To discover and share knowledge about plants and their environment in order to preserve and enrich life

Henry Shaw Founded the Missouri Botanical Garden in St. Louis in 1859. Today, 155 years after its opening, the Garden is a National Historic Landmark and a center for science, conservation, education and horticultural display — and is widely considered one of the top botanical gardens in the world for its collection and research activities.

The Missouri Botanical Garden is one more of the stunning gifts for which we can thank our namesake Henry Shaw.  The Garden is within walking distance of every household in the Shaw Neighborhood.  The Garden is a place for peaceful walks, intrepid exploration, and truly spectacular events year round.

The Garden hosts many signature events year round that showcase music, culture, nature’s beauty and serve to educate.
