“To discover and share knowledge about plants and their environment in order to preserve and enrich life”
Henry Shaw Founded the Missouri Botanical Garden in St. Louis in 1859. Today, 155 years after its opening, the Garden is a National Historic Landmark and a center for science, conservation, education and horticultural display — and is widely considered one of the top botanical gardens in the world for its collection and research activities.
