The Shaw Neighborhood Improvement Association (SNIA) is happy to announce the following recipients of the 2015 Helping Hands Grants.
City Garden Montessori for ColorBrave series (Primary Contact: Christie Huck)
Mental Health America of Eastern Missouri for two seminars for adults and children on emotional intelligence (Primary Contact: Mark Utterback)
Saint Louis University Micah Program for their annual Shaw Halloween Party (Primary Contact: Debra Wilson)
Cornerstone Center for Early Learning for their diaper program (Primary Contact: Jami Melton)
Isaiah 58 Ministries for their Soul Sisters Women’s Empowerment Program (Primary Contact: Sarah Plewniak)
Shaw Leadership Program for youth activities, including swimming lessons, and parent seminars (Primary Contact: Birdie Chandler)
Shaw Community Center for adult-supervised open gym and other activities at Mullanphy School (Primary Contact: Becky Reinhart)
A total of $10,600 will be distributed beginning in July 2015; $10,000 provided by SNIA and $600 provided by a generous board member. These grants would not be possible without funds collected from the annual Historic Shaw Art Fair and SNIA membership dues. We thank all who have contributed, as well as the many other institutions and organizations working to enhance the quality of life of Shaw residents.
